If you’re anything like me, you’ve spent a lot of time using Omegle to entertain yourself with some great random chat experiences talking to strangers from all around the world. However, after using the same website app over and over, you’ve probably also found yourself wondering if there are any other good similar sites like Omegle out there that work just as well but maybe make things a little bit more interesting. Well, the answer is that yes there are, and one of the best alternatives for this random chat app niche is called iMeetzu. What this site does, is it offers everything that Omegle has, but then adds more options and features that truly set it apart from any other apps out there. So, let’s get into it.
iMeetzu originally started with just one way to chat, which was text only random chat rooms seen here: https://www.imeetzu.com/chat. In other words, it had the 1-on-1 random connection setup going, but there was no video. Then, after Chatroulette came along, they decided to add video chat rooms as well, but they still maintained the text room app functionality because obviously some people prefer not to stream themselves live on cam all the time. Anyway, iMeetzu didn’t just stop with the addition of this new chatting option, they also took things farther. First, they added a group chat room capability where users can go into a typical style chat app where you can see all the users in a room and talk to them all at once. Of course, they again made sure to include video streaming with that as well, so that you can watch a bunch of different people live all at once. Pretty cool right?
Anyway, they didn’t stop with just 3 chat room styles! That’s right, they wanted to go even farther. So, what did they do? Well, they built an entire social network to go with it. That’s right, I’m talking Facebook only just for meeting new people all around the world. It was the first random chat social network for talking to strangers, and might still be the only one actually. I don’t think there are any others that do quite as good a job of really creating the sort of friendly fun environment iMeetzu has created with theirs. So, whatever you do, make sure you check out the social section as well! They have iPhone and Android apps for it too, so that’s pretty cool. I personally use the iOS one and it works great.
Oh, one other thing I forgot to mention, iMeetzu’s random text chat rooms have one super cool extra feature that even Omegle doesn’t have. This feature is the ability to send images to the stranger you are chatting with during a conversation. This means you can go to your camera roll on your phone, select a picture, and send it right away. Obviously this is a great ability to have, and it really helps you to forge real connections and make new friends!
